Near Death Experiences Explained
Near death experience (NDE) is a psychic phenomena that is frequently experienced by a person who is either clinically dead or in the process of dying, and is then revived back to a live physical state. Near death experiences are reported in approximately one-fifth of people who survive clinical death.
For those who survive a near death experience, it is often a life altering event. Many claim to gain a higher level of consciousness that brings new found levels of awareness and understanding about the afterlife and the meanings of their lives on the mortal plain as well.
Most people who have an NDE describe the experience with similarities. No matter what a person’s spiritual beliefs are before an NDE event, the experience itself is almost always described in a very spiritual sense. Some describe hearing a buzzing sound before traveling in a tunnel which ends with the vision of a white light or spirit. During this time the traveler may experience seeing themselves outside of their own body. Many experience a meeting with loved ones who have already “passed on” or having discussions with spirits about their lives.
In stark contrast to the trauma and pain that can often lead up to a near death experience, the event itself is almost always described as peaceful and painless with feelings of joy and happiness. This is one of the primary reasons why many who experience an NDE become forever transformed in a positive way. They no longer fear death or pain, and feel a new connection to the universe and their loved ones. Afterwards their lives often take on a new purpose and become more balanced. Some people also find that they have gained or awakened psychic abilities that they were previously not aware of. This seems to occur because of the spiritual experience.
As peaceful and enlightening as a NDE may be, there are some who are affected in a negative way. Some people are afraid to share their experience and feel alienated. Others may be wrestling with how what they experienced may be contradicting with their religious beliefs. Some even find that the activities that previously had meaning now seem trivial and therefore they have difficulty in maintaining what was important to them before the near death experience. In such cases, a person with spiritual and psychic abilities may be able to help them understand, share, and learn from the phenomena they experienced.
As enlightening as an NDE may be, nobody who has experienced one knows what it is truly like to completely cross over. While they may gain a new knowledge about their present lives, nobody has ever gone far enough to fully understand what their afterlives will be like. There is always some sort of boundary between those who have passed on and the person reporting the experience. Sometimes a voice calls them back to the physical world or the spirits tell them it is not there time to die. Others feel a sense of obligation and purpose to return to life. Despite this fact, few who have experienced an NDE believe that their afterlives will be anything but positive.
