Also known as metaphysics, psychic ability can be defined as the mysterious ability of having psi (a Greek letter which is used for equating the human mind to the unknown), sixth sense, prophecy and Extrasensory Perception or ESP. People who have psychic abilities are known as psychics.

Animal Telepathy – A person having this ability, like a pet psychic will be able to communicate to different kinds of animals, however the psychic would not be able to influence or command them.
Astral Projection – This is defined as the ability to free one’s spirit from the body and travel to another location.
Aura Readings – This is one of the many forms of psychic readings by which psychic abilities can be detected. This is defined as the ability to observe energy fields that living beings project.

Divination – This is actually a very broad term that encompasses abilities like phophesy, precognition, fortune telling and various other methods that can be used for forecasting the future.
Dowsing – This calls for the use of sticks, a rod and a pendulum for the purpose of locating lost or misplaced items and water. It is also called ‘water witching’.
Empathy – This is the supernatural ability of being able to sense the emotions, drives, desires of people. This is similar to aura reading in the sense that psychic ability can reveal itself only when empathy develops.
ESP – Extra Sensory Perception is the ability by which psychics can discover information pertaining to events which cannot be detected by normal human beings. ESP is a method that is used for describing telepathy, precognition, clairvoyance, etc.

Precognition – This is the ability by which one can ‘know the future’, but it isn’t possible for the psychic to obtain complete information about the future because time is very dynamic. However, with precognition one can find out about the general results of actions.
Psychometry – The ability to read vibrations or impressions left on a object by a person who is associated with the object. An unfamiliar object can be used for revealing a lot of facts about the owner using psychometry.
Pyrokinesis – This is the ability to create fires using one’s mind solely.
